This is a webpage created to help students learn about creating a webpage for use in their role as a professional and inform parents about the classroom activities their child(ren) are involved in on a weekly basis.

  1. Blogging can be used as a tool to keep in touch with parents. Teachers can post class activities, events and weekly or daily progress. If you make the blog public you can also share with other teachers and students. It could be a great way to go paperless, instead of sending out little notes; you can blog to keep everyone up to date. The only down fall would be those who do not have access to a computer. In some poverty stricken areas a computer is not always accessible.

  2. Blogging can benefit a classroom in many ways. Children can have an outlet for their thoughts and inputs. They can also ask questions and answer questions from other children. Blogs can be used to keep in touch with parents and students. Teachers can use blog as an informational forum for events and activities. Teachers can use blogs as an educational tool for students as well. Teachers can blog other teachers to get input about certain activities.

  3. Blogging is a great tool to have for many ways. I belong to a network of daycare providers. Blogging could be used to share ideas and provide support to one another. Also, I would love to communicate to the parents on a daily basis regarding their children. At the end of the day I could blogg about everything we did that day. This may encourage parents to become more involved in their child's development.

  4. Blogging can be used for a number of different things. People can blog about anything. A blog is sometimes used as a personal journal. A place where a person can come and tell the world what is on their minds. This is a good way to get your point across. Although sometimes it might not seem as though people pay attention to blogs, there are a lot of people that do nothing with their free time, but surf the web looking for different things. I think that having a blog fo my classroom would be a really cool experiance. This would be a cool new way to get parents involved in the classroom and in their children's work that they do.

  5. I think having a blog for you classroom in a great helpful way to get information to parents and caregivers. A blog creates an easy simple way for the teacher to post whats going on inside the classroom. Ask for supplies, talk about new activities, and tell interesting things about the children's day. It would also help to get parents and caregivers more involved in the classroom.

  6. I think that having a blog would be a great resource to hve available for the parents if my students. I thnk that it would be a great way to keep them informed about the activities that will be taking place in the classroom. It would be an easy wayfor me to make a list of supplies needed in the classroom for special art activities, science projects, and classroom projects that we will be doing. I can also see how this would be a great avanue to communicate to the parents about the theme that we are talking about in class and to let them know exactly what I will be telling their children in cirlce time. It will also be a great way for me to post the funny things that the children say from day to day or the answers they may give me to the questions I ask them during circle time and small group time. I could get into blogging.

  7. Blogs are used to help teachers and parents communicate. This could also be used as a newsletter to inform parents of upcoming events and things that are happening now in the classroom. Teachers could use a blog to find ideas about themes or lesson plans. I think this is a great idea to use for the classroom. Communication is key for anything to be successful and this is a great way to keep the lines open.

  8. Since communication with parents is so important, and everyone has preferred methods of communication, I think having the ability to update parents and teachers through a blog is a great idea as long as it is one of many lines of communication. In the event a parent doesn't have access to or like electronic communication, an alternate form of communication should be available to them.

I also think it could be a great outlet for the children who are old enough to practice many skills by posting to a blog.

  9. This was a easy process. I would consider using this for my classroom, because it gives an opportunity to follow along better and keep up with things going on.
I think it is good to have the password protected.I have access to FaceBook, use to with myspace and to be honest, that is the only way I can keep up with anyone anymore. No one never talks except on facebook and you know everything about what has happened within the hour. Sometimes I think people put to much information, but in order for people to keep up is the best idea.

  10. I think that parents have to much to worry about during the day to look at blogs. At the end of a long work day, picking up the kids. They have to cook and clean, give baths, read book, and get ready for the next day. I am sure that the last thing they want to do is have to log into and search for a blog for the childs school. I think that being verbally told or having a board at the school with updates would be more effective. I have even had the majority of parents in a class that dont even read daily sheets. I dont think they care as much as we would like to think they do. I dont know, Me personally think it is a good idea, but from past experience with daycares, the daily sheets sent home with reminders get lost in a sea of paperwork and thrown out before they get home.
